Island Blu –

Brand spanking new

IslandBlu, once the European headquarters of Xerox, is being redeveloped to provide contemporary living spaces in Uxbridge – one of the best-connected regions of west London. This landmark building forms the first of three phases in the transformation of a peninsular formed between the River Colne and the Grand Union Canal.
BYM Residential approached House Marketing to provide the marketing materials to support the sale of the apartments to the investment and residential market. The first part of this project was to provide in-depth research and submit a series of names for the development.

IslandBlu was chosen as the name is evocative of an exotic beachside resort with blue skies and seas. Although the development isn’t on an island, having the canal on one side and the river on the other, the feeling is very much one of being surrounded by water. The word island also implies a place of sanctuary and privacy.

House then developed the IslandBlu logo offering different colour and style options. The chosen logo uses the colours of sand and sea with a contemporary splash motif. The colours and the outline of the motif are used as a theme throughout the marketing materials to consolidate the branding.
